A major road accident took place on the National Highway near Floor Mill, Uran Hall Anantnag on Thursday. According to initial reports, the collision occurred between a Creta and an Alto car, leaving several people injured.

Eyewitnesses said the impact of the crash was severe, causing panic among locals who rushed to the spot to help the victims. Police and rescue teams reached the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

Two persons including a doctor sustained injuries on Thursday when two vehicles collided near a flour mill in Batangoo area of Anantnag.

The accident involved a Creta car bearing registration number JK01AJ0198 driven by Dr Tariq Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Chanpora Srinagar, and an Alto K10 with registration number JK03Q1297 whose driver has not yet been identified.

Eyewitnesses said the collision occurred when both vehicles were moving through the busy Batangoo stretch. The impact left the drivers injured along with other occupants travelling in the vehicles. Locals rushed to assist before police and medical teams reached the spot.

Police officials said that the injured were immediately shifted to hospital for treatment, where their condition is reported to be stable. They added that a case has been registered and further investigations are underway to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to the crash. [KNT]
