Omar Abdullah Unveils 2026 Tourism Calendars, Launches New Tourism Kashmir Website

Omar Abdullah on Monday unveiled the 2026 calendars of the Tourism Department and the Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation at the Civil Secretariat.

“These calendars are not just yearly publications; they visually present the natural beauty of Jammu and Kashmir and the progress made in tourism infrastructure,” he said.

On the same occasion, Omar Abdullah also launched the official website of the Directorate of Tourism Kashmir. The website has been developed to promote tourism events and destinations, preserve digital records, and provide complete tourism-related information at one place.

The portal also includes useful links to Jammu Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation, the J&K Cable Car Corporation and other related organisations, making it a single-window platform for tourists and stakeholders.

The Chief Minister said a strong digital presence is essential for effective outreach. He added that the new website would be informative and helpful for visitors planning to explore Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, Omar Abdullah also inaugurated an Integrated Skiing Course at Gulmarg and Sonamarg. The programme includes two batches of 32 and 25 trainees respectively. Officials said the basic skiing course will run for 14 days and is meant for trainees aged between 12 and 18 years.

Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, and several senior officials from the tourism department were present during the event.
