Dal Lake Turns Patriotic Sea: Omar Abdullah, Manoj Sinha Lead Massive Tiranga Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir

Tiranga Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a powerful display of national pride on Tuesday as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha led a vibrant Tiranga Yatra around the scenic Dal Lake. Hundreds of residents joined the rally, waving the tricolour and chanting patriotic slogan

Omar Abdullah’s Call for Lasting Respect for the Tiranga
Addressing the gathering, Omar Abdullah urged citizens to remember the sacrifices made for the national flag, not just during ceremonial occasions but in daily life.

“Those who sacrificed their lives for the Tiranga did not worry about their future and gave their today for it,” he said. “Our flag is our identity, and we must maintain its dignity beyond these events.”

Manoj Sinha Praises Forces for Avenging Pahalgam Attack
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha lauded the bravery of soldiers and police personnel who carried out Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, avenging the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

“I congratulate the brave soldiers of the armed forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police for protecting the self-respect of the nation,” he said.

Tiranga Spirit Across J&K
The patriotic fervour was not limited to Dal Lake. In Lal Chowk, students took part in a CRPF-organised Tiranga Yatra, while in Doda, a 1,508-metre-long national flag was unfurled during another rally on Monday.

Part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign
The events are part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, launched in 2021 to mark India’s 75th year of independence. The Ministry of Culture has called on citizens to hoist the tricolour at their homes between 2 and 15 August, with this year’s theme also promoting cleanliness under the slogan “Cleanliness is Service.”

A Unified Message
From Dal Lake to Doda, the message was clear—patriotism, unity, and the resolve to protect and honour the Tiranga will remain at the heart of Jammu and Kashmir’s spirit.
