Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee president Tariq Hameed Karra while debunking reports that the alliance with the National Conference is on the verge of a collapse, termed them as “malicious” and “concocted.”

Tariq Karra, asserted that there was no truth in these reports and that Congress was committed to this alliance and in support of the present dispensation.

“These are just baseless, malicious, concocted, and constructed rumours. I don’t have much to say about it. This is not a thing to respond to,” Karra stated.

Karra, however, added that they have been reiterating their principal demand for restoration of statehood and that they would not be a part of the cabinet unless statehood is restored.

“Statehood restoration is our principal stand. We are not joining the cabinet unless statehood is restored,” he said.

Several reports have been doing rounds on social media that Congress was contemplating to put an end to the alliance with the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)

 Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief, Tariq Hameed Karra, made a surprise visit to his Central Shalteng assembly constituency, engaging with voters and supporters extending sincere gratitude to voters across Kokarhama, Mirgund, Rambeelgarh, Panzinara, Mujhgund, Khawja Bagh, Maloora, and nearby areas.

During this outreach, Mr. Karra met with community members and local elders, youths and others community members, emphasizing the value he places on regular communication with the people he represents. He noted that this visit follows a long-standing tradition he has upheld each time when he has been elected—whether for past Assembly elections, Parliament elections, or other elections etc. He reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the priorities of Central Shalteng’s communities.

Reaffirming his commitment, Mr. Karra stated, “My bond with the people of Central Shalteng is my greatest strength.Each election strengthens my resolve to serve and advocate for this constituency. I will continue to visit and engage directly with the community as part of my dedication to their welfare. I am also the MLA of those who did not vote for me—my doors are always open for all.” His words struck a strong message with the local population, who expressed appreciation for his steadfast dedication.

Residents of Central Shalteng warmly received Mr. Karra’s tour, with many praising his ongoing dedication to addressing their concerns and needs, especially in areas of power, water, roads, hospitals, agriculture and horticulture, education, infrastructure, and social welfare. The visit underscored Mr. Karra’s unique approach to leadership, characterized by active presence, open dialogue, and genuine efforts to listen and address the aspirations of all community members.(KNS).

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Tariq Hameed Karra Monday said that the Congress party was open to forge alliance with like-minded people or parties and that the National Conference has approached the Congress Central leadership for a pre-poll alliance.

“As far as the alliance, we are open to like-minded people or the parties to forge an alliance with them,” Karra said addressing a gathering at PCC headquarters in Srinagar after his return from New Delhi. He was recently appointed as the J&K PCC chief by the party high command in Delhi.

About NC, he revealed that the party leadership has approached central leadership in Delhi for a pre-poll alliance. “If parties are of the ideas that we have to defeat divisive forces and BJP, they will definitely ally with the Congress. And we will definitely succeed,” Karra said—(KNO)
