The Haryana Police have arrested a man in Ambala for allegedly spying for Pakistan and sharing sensitive information related to an Air Force station.
According to the police, the accused, Sunil alias Sunny, a resident of Ambala, was taken into custody after intelligence inputs suggested he was passing information about a defence area. A case was registered, and his mobile phone was seized during questioning, which reportedly showed suspicious activity.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
DSP Crime Virendra Kumar said that Sunil had been working as a contractor at the Air Force station since 2020 and was involved in repair work. During interrogation, it was found that he was allegedly taking photographs and sharing information. Police said he was in contact with a woman who would ask for details, which he then passed on.
Initial analysis of his phone suggested that the information was being sent to a neighbouring country, described by police as an enemy nation. However, officers said the investigation is still at an early stage and all evidence is being carefully analysed. Sunil has been placed on four days’ police remand.
Police also shared background details, stating that Sunil’s father is retired from the Indian Railways, and that he is married with two children.
In a separate case, the Haryana Police earlier arrested Devendra, a resident of Kaithal, for allegedly passing information to the Pakistan Army and the Inter-Services Intelligence during the recent India–Pakistan tensions.
DSP Kaithal Veerbhan said Devendra confessed during interrogation that he had shared information related to Operation Sindoor and ongoing India–Pakistan issues. Cyber police teams are now examining the electronic devices recovered from him.
Police said both investigations are ongoing, and further action will be taken strictly according to law once all facts are verified.
