A 32-year-old man from Kulgam died after reportedly suffocating inside his car while keeping the heater on overnight, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident happened outside District Hospital Kulgam, where the man’s wife was admitted for treatment. To stay warm during the cold night, he parked his car near the hospital and slept inside it with the heater running. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Officials said the car was closed for several hours, and the continuous use of the heater likely caused a lack of oxygen inside the vehicle. The man was later found unconscious in the car and was rushed into the hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Mashooq Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Yousuf Mir, a resident of the Kulpora area of Kulgam.
His body was sent for medico-legal formalities, and police have taken note of the incident for further investigation.
