Continuing its drive against drug abuse, Budgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered a contraband substance along with a vehicle in the Narbal area of Magam.
A police team from Police Post Narbal set up a checkpoint at Syed Mohallah, Narbal, near Peer Masjid. During routine checking, the team intercepted an Ertiga vehicle bearing registration number JK05M-8910.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The vehicle was being driven by Showkat Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Ahad Wani, a resident of Wanigam, Pattan in Baramulla.
During a personal search of the driver, police recovered a charas-like substance weighing about 32 grams from his possession. He was arrested on the spot, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was seized.
A case under FIR No. 02/2026 has been registered under Sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Magam, and further investigation is underway.
Budgam Police reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society and appealed to the public to share any information related to drug peddling or trafficking.
