Landslides and Road Blockages in Multiple Districts

A major landslide in Uri blocked the main road, forcing officials to quickly deploy machines and workers to clear the debris.

Other districts facing problems include:

  • Kupwara
  • Bandipora
  • Ganderbal
  • Anantnag

Snow, mudslides, and falling rocks have made roads unsafe. Authorities have advised people to avoid unnecessary travel.

Farming and Daily Life Affected

The ongoing wet weather has disturbed farming activities across the Valley. Farmers have been advised to pause work until conditions improve.

Transport services are also affected, and both urban and rural life has slowed down due to blocked roads and bad weather.

Weather Forecast for Coming Days

According to the Meteorological Department, unstable weather will continue across Jammu and Kashmir until April 10:

  • Light to moderate rain expected in plains
  • Snowfall likely in higher areas
  • Strong winds up to 50 km/h and occasional thunder possible

From April 5 to 7, weather is expected to remain partly cloudy. Fresh rain or snowfall may return between April 8 and 10. By mid-April, conditions are likely to improve, with mostly dry weather expected.

Warnings Issued in Avalanche-Prone Areas

Authorities have issued warnings in avalanche-risk districts like Ganderbal, Anantnag, and Kupwara. Residents are advised to stay indoors when possible and avoid risky areas.

Farmers have again been advised to resume work only when weather conditions become safe.

Situation Still Uncertain

While rescue operations have helped many people, the overall situation remains challenging. With more bad weather expected in the coming days, authorities continue to monitor conditions and urge the public to stay cautious.
