Security forces on Saturday recovered an arms consignment dropped by a Pakistan-based drone near the International Border (IB) in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The recovery was made in the Regal forward area during a joint operation carried out by multiple security agencies. The operation was launched after receiving specific intelligence inputs about suspicious drone activity along the border.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Officials said the seized cache included two pistols, three magazines, 16 rounds of ammunition, and one grenade. After detecting the suspected drop, security forces immediately cordoned off the area and conducted a thorough search, which led to the recovery of the weapons.
No arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident.
Security agencies have started a detailed investigation to identify the intended recipients of the arms and to trace the route used for the drone delivery. Officials said further action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
