Rumours Claiming Netanyahu’s Death and AI Video Debunked Amid Iran–Israel Conflict

Netanyahu’s Death

Global Desk: Viral claims circulating on social media that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his son have been killed, and that his recent video message was generated using artificial intelligence, have been debunked as false and misleading.

The rumours began spreading online during the ongoing Iran–Israel–US conflict, after Iranian missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets were widely reported.

However, fact-checkers and multiple international media outlets have confirmed that Netanyahu is alive and actively leading Israel’s government. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

How the Rumours Started

The claims gained attention after clips from Netanyahu’s recent speech circulated on platforms such as X.

Some users alleged that the video showed Netanyahu with six fingers on one hand, suggesting the video was created using artificial intelligence.

From this claim, conspiracy theories quickly spread saying:

  • Netanyahu had been killed or injured in Iranian strikes
  • Israel was using AI-generated videos to hide the truth
  • His son Yair Netanyahu was also dead

None of these claims have been supported by credible evidence.

Fact-Checkers Debunk the Claims

Several independent fact-checking organisations including Snopes, PolitiFact, and international media reports examined the viral video.

Their findings showed that:

  • The footage came from official government broadcasts and verified accounts
  • Netanyahu’s hand has the normal five fingers
  • The “sixth finger” seen in screenshots is caused by lighting, shadow, and motion effects

Experts explained that such visual illusions often appear in compressed or paused video frames.

Netanyahu and His Son Are Alive

As of March 14, 2026, there are no credible reports from Israeli authorities, international media, or independent sources confirming any harm to Netanyahu.

He has continued to appear in public statements and official briefings regarding Israel’s military operations.

His son Yair Netanyahu, who currently lives in Miami, has also not been reported injured or killed.

Earlier similar rumours about him were also debunked in previous years.

Information War During Conflict

Experts say that misinformation and propaganda often spread rapidly during conflicts, especially on social media.

Both supporters and opponents of different sides may share unverified claims, edited videos, or conspiracy theories to influence public opinion.

The current Iran–Israel conflict has also seen a large number of viral posts, memes, and manipulated videos circulating online.

Importance of Verifying Information

Media analysts advise people to rely on verified news sources and official statements instead of viral social media posts.

False claims about public figures can easily spread during fast-moving global events, making fact-checking and responsible information sharing essential.

At present, Benjamin Netanyahu remains Israel’s Prime Minister and continues to issue public statements regarding the ongoing conflict.
