National Convenor of JKSA, Nasir Khuehami, said the matter was taken up with the Haryana Chief Minister’s Media Advisor, Rajeev Jaitly. He was informed that an FIR was immediately registered and police teams were deployed to trace and arrest the attackers.

Khuehami further said that the Superintendent of Police, Kaithal, Ms Upasna, informed the Association that the case has been registered at Kalayat Police Station under Sections 196(1), 299, and 353(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police teams have carried out raids at several locations, and the accused are expected to be arrested soon. The investigation is currently active.

The Association said the Haryana Chief Minister has taken serious note of the incident and clearly stated that harassment, threats, or violence against Kashmiri traders will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Chief Minister’s Media Advisor also assured JKSA that strict and exemplary action will be taken against those responsible. He said the state government is fully committed to protecting the safety, dignity, and livelihood of all citizens, including traders, workers, and students from the Kashmir Valley living and working in Haryana.

JKSA also said that another similar incident reported from Fatehabad district is under investigation. The Haryana Chief Minister’s Office has assured that an FIR will also be registered in that case and arrests will follow.

While appreciating the prompt response of the Haryana government and police, JKSA expressed concern over repeated incidents of harassment and violence against Kashmiri shawl sellers in different states. The Association said strict and time-bound action is needed to stop such incidents in future.

The JKSA stressed that Kashmiri traders have been contributing peacefully to local economies for decades and must be allowed to live and work with dignity, without fear. The Association added that swift action by the Haryana government has strengthened confidence in the rule of law and sent a clear message that hatred and violence will not be allowed.
