As part of its continued and sustained efforts to strengthen public safety and communication security, Bandipora Police today launched a comprehensive inspection drive of SIM card vendors across the district.

Police teams from all Police Stations and Police Posts conducted detailed inspections of SIM card vendors operating within their respective jurisdictions. During the inspections, emphasis was laid on verifying identity proofs, maintaining proper records, and ensuring that SIM cards are issued only to genuine subscribers with valid documentation.

Any vendor found violating regulatory norms will face strict legal action, including penalties, cancellation of license, or prosecution under relevant laws.

The general public has been requested to extend full cooperation during these inspections and to ensure that SIM cards registered in their names are not misused. Citizens are also urged to report any suspicious activity or irregular issuance of SIM cards to the nearest Police Station or the District Police Helpline.

Bandipora Police remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of communication networks and maintaining public trust by preventing their exploitation for unlawful or anti-national activities.

Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary Reviews Progress of Sanat Nagar Flyover, Directs Timely Completion

Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary today visited the site of under-construction Sanat Nagar Flyover here and took on-spot assessment of overall progress and ongoing works of the project.

Taking a detailed appraisal of the work, the Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to speed up the pace of works and ensure timely completion of works on this much-awaited flyover so that it can dedicated to public use within this month. He said that the project holds great significance for easing traffic congestion and improving road connectivity in Srinagar city.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said the government is fully committed to completing all languishing and ongoing projects across Jammu and Kashmir in the shortest possible time.

“Several projects that were pending for years have now been completed, including the Qamarwari Bridge, while many others are in their final stages. At the same time, new projects are being launched, like the widening of Boulevard Road to further improve road infrastructure and provide better facilities to the people,” he said.

Later, the Deputy Chief Minister also visited the Nowgam Bridge to inspect the condition of the road facility. He directed the engineers to take immediate measures for repair and maintenance to ensure smooth movement of traffic for public ease.

The Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the executing agencies and asked them to continue working with dedication and sense of responsibility so that developmental works are completed within the stipulated timelines.
