Imran Nabi Dar Accuses MLAs of Betraying NC in Rajya Sabha Elections

Imran Nabi Dar

The losing candidate of National Conference in Rajya Sabha polls, Imran Nabi Dar, on Sunday said some MLAs, who publicly promised to support the “secular forces” against the BJP, have backstabbed his party in the elections.

He claimed that while the NC knew the MLAs who helped the BJP win the fourth seat, they will be exposed at the right time.

Unfortunately and shamefully, those who promised to support the secular forces from J&K chose to backstab us and the mandate that the people had given them. They stand exposed today. Their true nature and allegiance is for all to see,” Dar said in a post on X.

“Much is being talked and written about how we lost the seat. We tried, and tried our best, but failed to see the Trojan Horse,” he added.

Dar expressed hope that BJP’s winning candidate will rise above party politics and work for people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“I hope against hope that the BJP MP Sat Sharma, who was elected to RS by connivance and behind door deals, leaves behind his blotched past, his hatred for Muslims and support to criminals, and his party’s communal ideology behind and puts in some efforts for the people of J-K,” he said.

Dar thanked NC president Farooq Abdullah, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other party leaders for putting him up as a candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat.

“Congratulations to my party colleagues Choudary Ramzaan Sb, Sajjad Kichloo Sb, @oberoi_shammi ji on being elected as RS members. I am sure they will be the voice of voiceless people of J&K in RS,” he said. “I am thankful to all @JKNC_ MLA’s, Alliance partners who voted in my favour.”

Imran Nabi Dar Condemns Mehbooba Mufti’s Criticism of CM Omar Abdullah’s Statehood Efforts

Imran Nabi Dar

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar Tuesday vehemently condemned PDP President Mehbooba Mufti for her public outburst against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s dedicated efforts to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir saying we are in this situation because of the ill conceived moves of PDP.
He made these remarks while engaging with the press at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha in Srinagar. Imran didn’t hold back in criticizing PDP President, stating that PDP is clearly rattled by CM Omar Sbs relentless efforts to restore statehood.

“Omar Sahib’s call for the restoration of Statehood has caused quite a stir, especially among the PDP. It is his rightful duty to advocate for this cause, and his approach was both dignified and official. It’s a stark contrast to the obsequious language used by Mehbooba Ji when she was CM, which often bordered on cringe-worthy when addressing the Government of India. It seems like Omar Sahib is taking a more direct and assertive approach, and it’s definitely making waves in the political arena,” he said.

Imran pointed out that PDP and its leadership have been consistently rejected by the people in election after election, from DDC to parliament to legislative assembly elections. “It’s like the pot calling the kettle black. No amount of whataboutery will change the fact that the people have clearly said ‘thanks, but no thanks’ to PDP and its policies time and time again. It’s high time for PDP to gracefully take a back seat, which the people have kindly relocated her to, and let Omar Sahib’s government work on restoring what was snatched from us due to the deceptions of PDP. This whole theatrical performance won’t make a lick of difference in the end. People see through her charades and won’t be fooled,” he said.(KNS)

NC Party Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar Dismissed Rumours, says “No back channel talks outside BJP

Imran Nabi Dar

Ahead of the vote counting process, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has categorically denied rumors suggesting “back channel” discussions with some parties and independent candidates outside the INDIA bloc.

In a statement, the party spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said the party dismisses the claims made by some people about back channel talks other than INDIA alliance as baseless and urged the public to remain unaffected by such misinformation.

The JKNC said those anticipating their defeat have resorted to spreading false accusations to create confusion. “We urge the public, who have placed their trust in us, to disregard these false claims and not be swayed by rumor-mongering,” the party spokesman said.

He said, the party remains firm in its stance and commitment to the INDIA bloc, calling for calm as the vote counting process unfolds. The NC statement comes days before the big day – October 8, when counting of votes will be done for 90 seats of J&K Assembly. J&K witnessed elections after a decade that saw 69 percent voting. The BJP has already claimed that it will emerge as the single largest party and form the government on its own.

On the other hand, NC and Congress who fought in a pre-poll alliance, are sure about forming government in J&K. (NVI)

Govt fails to resolve electricity crisis in Kashmir: Imran Nabi Dar

Srinagar, Jan 09 : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Tuesday said there is no let-up in the sufferings of people due to the prolonged power outages, saying the government assurances to address the issue have proven empty. This was said by the party’s State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar in a statement released from party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar. He said people across Kashmir continue to apprise party leadership about the unfulfilled promises of the government on power supply, restoration of defunct transformers and adherence to proper schedules.

Echoing their sentiments, Imran said, “The situation runs contrary to the claims made by the incumbent administration about availability of 24×7 power supply in metered areas. The Government takes crores of rupees in terms of tariff from the consumers but when it comes to providing round the clock power supply, it is abdicating responsibilities leaving the consumers high and dry.”

“Come winters and the valley is beset with darkness, the scenario has worsened this year drastically. The power supply is playing hide and seek with the government, in particular the civil administration has left people to fend for themselves. The hapless consumers don’t know how to brave the ongoing chill with no adequate power supply,” he said.Imran further said the load shedding schedule has gone for a toss, and most areas are facing day long outages. “This has never been the scenario with the power distribution in Kashmir. Unfortunately the decreasing governance in Kashmir has coincided with the abrogation of the state’s unique status. Kashmir power shortages stem from a host of factors ranging from inadequate infrastructure, transmission loss, and increasing usage of the ever growing population, unfortunately the government has left the entire issue unattended. Nothing substantial has been done to augment the power infrastructure since 2014,” he said.
