In a moment of great loss for the Kashmir Valley, G.A. Peer (IAS), former Commissioner Secretary and a respected figure from Seer Hamdan, Anantnag, passed away in Srinagar after a brief illness.
According to details received by Kashmir News Corner (KNC), Peer Saheb had been unwell for some time and breathed his last on Sunday. His demise has been widely mourned by people from all walks of life, including retired officials, civil society members, and locals from his hometown.
A native of Seer Hamdan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, G.A. Peer served the administration with integrity and dedication throughout his distinguished career in the Indian Administrative Service. His commitment to public welfare and development earned him deep respect and admiration across the Valley.
As news of his passing spread, social media platforms were flooded with heartfelt tributes and condolences. Friends, colleagues, and community members remembered him as a kind, disciplined, and visionary officer who remained connected to his roots despite his high-ranking administrative positions.
Family members have requested prayers for the departed soul, and local mosques in the region held Fateha Khwani for him.
