Speaking at the event, Manoj Sinha said the administration is committed to supporting families who lost their loved ones in militancy-related incidents. Many of these families had been waiting for assistance for years. Providing government jobs to their relatives, he said, would help them regain stability and move forward in life.

He described the initiative as a gesture of support and recognition for families who suffered because of terrorism. According to him, employment opportunities can give these households a fresh start and financial security.

Sinha also extended his greetings for the upcoming Eid al‑Fitr to the families present at the function. He said the appointment letters should be seen as a message of justice and acknowledgment for people who endured great personal loss.

Officials said that more than 400 families of terror victims have already received government jobs under this scheme. Authorities are still identifying more eligible beneficiaries, and the police and civil administration are working together to process the remaining cases.

The Lieutenant Governor said justice should be reflected not only in words but also through action and support for victims’ families. He also referred to a Kashmiri saying that justice brings light and hope to those who have faced long periods of hardship.

Talking about the impact of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir since the 1990s, Sinha said many families lost their main earning members and struggled for years without institutional help. He added that the administration is now working to address their issues and support their rehabilitation.

He also mentioned that some victims were very young when these incidents happened. Their cases, along with other pending matters related to affected families, will be reviewed in the coming months.

Reaffirming the government’s stand, Sinha said authorities follow a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. Security agencies, he said, are continuing their efforts to act against those involved in such activities.

He added that the administration is focusing on better governance, equal opportunities for citizens, and encouraging young people to take part in education, sports, and public service.
