Police on Wednesday took strong action against drug crime by arresting three drug peddlers in Kulgam and seizing illegal substances.
According to a police spokesperson, the action was taken after receiving specific information about drug peddling. A police team, along with the concerned Executive Magistrate, carried out a raid at an orchard in Paljan area of Kulgam.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
During the raid, three persons were arrested. They were identified as Mir Faheem, son of Gulzar Ahmad, resident of Buchroo; Danish Reyaz, son of Reyaz Ahmad Bhat, resident of Sonigam; and Unza Abass, son of Mohammad Abass Sheikh, resident of Rampora Qaimoh.
Police recovered about 5.1 kilograms of a ganja-like substance from their possession. All three accused were taken into custody and shifted to the police station.
In this connection, a case under FIR No. 142/2025 has been registered at Police Station Kulgam under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is underway.
Police have appealed to the public to report any drug-related activity or other crimes to the nearest police station or by dialling 112. People are urged to cooperate with the police to help remove drugs from society. Police assured that strict action will be taken against offenders as per law.
