National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has called upon the people of Jammu & Kashmir, particularly the esteemed Peer Sahiban and Imams, to offer special prayers seeking divine intervention for rainfall and snowfall in the region.

This appeal comes in response to the ongoing dry weather conditions that have led to a significant decline in water levels across various water bodies.

Expressing deep concern, Dr. Abdullah highlighted that the continuous dry spell has adversely affected both domestic water supply and agricultural irrigation needs. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that the diminishing water levels could escalate into a severe crisis if not addressed promptly.

In his statement, Dr. Abdullah underscored the collective responsibility in contributing to environmental challenges, citing pollution and encroachment upon water bodies as significant factors exacerbating the current situation. He urged the community to reflect upon these actions and to seek forgiveness, stating, “We must all work together to save nature.”

The President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah Sunday expressed anguish over the mysterious illness that has claimed the lives of many in Budhal village of Rajouri.

In a statement released from the party headquarters, Dr. Farooq expressed concern about the situation in Budhal village. However, he commended the timely action of the government, particularly the Chief Minister for reassuring the public that the reasons behind the deaths will be determined.

He praised the health ministry for conducting extensive tests on the ground to uncover the causes of the deaths.Dr. Farooq emphasized the importance of all branches of the administration, both civil and police, working together as directed by the Chief Minister to determine the cause of the deaths. He also acknowledged the efforts of the central government in assisting the local administration in identifying the root cause of the deaths.

Dr. Farooq urged the government to provide additional support to the affected households.

The Party President also extended condolences to the bereaved households during this challenging time, expressing that the party’s rank and file stand in solidarity with them in their time of utmost grief.(KNS)

The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah stated that the government led by Omar Abdullah is dedicated to bolstering Jammu’s economy by fully tapping into its tourism potential. During his visit to Charwa Mansar, Dr. Farooq engaged with local people and addressed their concerns, emphasizing the need to enhance tourist infrastructure to attract more visitors.

Public delegations expressed frustration over the lack of attention from the government since 2015, highlighting issues such as inadequate access to basic utilities, the deteriorating state of the lake, and poor road conditions. Dr. Farooq acknowledged the immense potential of the Jammu region and called for a comprehensive policy to boost the economy by leveraging its tourism offerings.

He stressed the importance of creating a well-structured tourism circuit that includes must-visit destinations like Shiv Khori, Patnitop, Mansar, and various spots in Doda-Kishtwar-Bhaderwah and Kathua. Dr. Farooq emphasized the need for an itinerary that encourages longer stays and increased economic activity in the region, ensuring sustained growth and prosperity.

The President of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Dr. Farooq Abdullah Monday paid a visit to Mirwaiz Manzil in Nigeen to offer his condolences to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on the passing of Mirwaiz Moulvi Mohammad Ahmed Shah, who recently passed away in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

He prayed for peace to the departed soul in the highest echelons of jannat and fortitude to the bereaved household. He also offered Fatiha for the deceased. 

Later he visited SMHS Hospital in Srinagar to personally meet with those who were injured in the recent grenade attack at TRC, Srinagar.Dr. Abdullah expressed concern over the health conditions of the injured individuals and urged the hospital authorities to ensure that all necessary medical facilities are provided for their swift recovery. Accompanying him was the MLA Pampore Justice Hasnain Masoodi.(KNS).
