Police also expressed concern that unlawful organisations might participate in gatherings and activities, including a proposed procession in the area. Considering the sensitive situation and previous confrontations between the groups, the SSP recommended imposing restrictions.

Acting on this recommendation, the District Magistrate ordered that restrictions under Section 163 BNSS will remain in force in Mirgund, Mirchimar, and nearby areas of Tehsil Singhpora from 8:00 PM on March 10, 2026, to 9:30 PM on March 11, 2026.

The restrictions coincide with the 21st of Ramzan and have been imposed as a preventive measure to maintain peace and protect life and property.

Under the order, gatherings of four or more persons and all types of processions are prohibited in the affected villages during the restriction period.

The order also bans carrying firearms or any weapons in public, except by authorised security personnel or officials on duty. Additionally, the use of loudspeakers and sound amplifying devices for speeches or announcements has also been prohibited.

Authorities said the step has been taken to ensure peace, maintain public order, and prevent any potential disturbance in the area.
