Discussion on Sufi Teachings
Chishty, who also serves as the Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, took part in a discussion with broadcaster Georgina Godwin.
During the session, he explained the central idea of the Chishty Sufi tradition and emphasised the importance of the inner spiritual journey.
“The essence of Sufism is the journey from the self to the Self,” Chishty said.
“When the heart awakens to its inner truth, it rises above divisions of religion, race and nation.”
He added that true spirituality encourages compassion, service to humanity and recognition that the Divine light exists within every soul.
Message of Ajmer Sharif
Chishty also highlighted the spiritual legacy of Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty, whose teachings from Ajmer Sharif emphasise universal love and peace.
He noted that the message of the shrine promotes the timeless principle of “love towards all, malice towards none.”
