Speaking to the media, Labroo said the Social Welfare Department is actively implementing several important projects in the district. These include special schools such as Palash and Parisha. He added that recent improvements have focused on education, sports facilities, and health camps for children with special needs.

He described the Abhinandan School as a major and special project for Srinagar, highlighting its importance for inclusive education in the region.

The Deputy Commissioner said all line departments are working together to ensure the project is completed on time. These include the R&B, power, water, revenue, police, planning, and social welfare departments. Although the official deadline for the project is 2027, he said efforts are being made to complete it earlier while maintaining high quality standards.

Talking about priorities for 2026, Labroo said the administration will focus on completing all approved projects in Srinagar. He stressed that projects with sanctioned funds should not be left unfinished. Key focus areas include last-mile connectivity, completion of infrastructure works, traffic decongestion, and proper use of land without encroachments.

Labroo also raised concern over the increasing number of fire incidents in Srinagar city. He urged residents to follow safety advisories issued by the administration. He advised people to get their electrical appliances checked and ensure that electricity usage matches the sanctioned load.

He warned against careless use of electrical equipment and said that storing dry grass near homes increases the risk of fires. He appealed to the public to immediately inform authorities in case of any incident so that fire and emergency teams can respond quickly.
