Under the guidance of Commissioner Dr. Owais Ahmed, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) launched an extensive cleanliness drive in Zone East.This initiative aimed to improve hygiene and cleanliness from Barbarshah Naqashpora through the Dewatering Station to Munawarabad Road.Spearheaded by the Chief Sanitation Officer and Zonal Sanitation Officer, the campaign focused on enhancing the overall cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the area.
Efforts were directed towards implementing effective waste collection and disposal methods, along with clearing unwanted vegetation and grass.Community involvement was a key component, reflecting SMC’s dedication to fostering civic responsibility and promoting sustainable, hygienic practices among residents.
The main goal of these actions is to create a cleaner, healthier environment for all Srinagar residents. Through such initiatives, the SMC seeks to cultivate a culture of cleanliness and encourage active community participation in maintaining a sustainable and hygienic living space.
