Dozens of Indian students who recently returned home from Iran have said that the ground situation in the country was normal and far less serious than what was shown on social media.
The students, most of whom were studying medical and other professional courses, said they neither witnessed unrest nor faced any threat during their stay in Iran. They explained that while they heard about protests through news reports and online sources, daily life in the cities where they lived continued without disruption.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to the students, the main difficulty they faced was the lack of internet services. “Internet was not working properly, which made it hard to contact our families, but there was no fear or panic around us,” several students said. They added that campuses and nearby areas remained calm.
Many students also said that a large number of their classmates and fellow Indian students chose to stay back in Iran, as academic activities were continuing as usual. “We only heard about protests, but we never saw anything with our own eyes,” some of the students said, calling social media narratives exaggerated and misleading.
Parents of the returning students expressed relief over the safe return of their children. They thanked the All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) for its coordination and support during the process.
The parents especially praised Dr Mohammad Moomin Khan, Vice President of AIMSA, for his efforts. “We are truly thankful to AIMSA, especially Dr Mohammad Moomin Khan, who made every possible effort to ensure our children returned home safely,” they said.
The students urged people to rely on verified information rather than unconfirmed social media content, warning that such reports often create unnecessary fear and do not reflect the actual situation on the ground.
