Iran Accuses US and Israel of False-Flag Drone Attacks Using ‘Lucas’
A spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has accused the United States and Israel of carrying out a false-flag campaign using a modified version of Iran’s Shahed-136 drone.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster Press TV, the spokesman claimed that a rebranded drone called “Lucas” is being used to target civilian infrastructure across the region in order to falsely blame the Islamic Republic. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Claim of Deceptive Tactics
In an official statement, the spokesman said that after facing military setbacks and failing to build strong political alliances against Tehran, Iran’s adversaries have turned to deceptive strategies.
He said the aim of these operations is to create doubt and damage Iran’s relations with neighbouring countries.
According to the statement, the plan is designed to portray Iran as responsible for attacks carried out across the region.
“Suspicious Attacks” in Several Countries
The spokesman pointed to a series of recent incidents in nearby countries including Turkey, Kuwait and Iraq, describing them as “suspicious attacks”.
He claimed Western media outlets and hostile groups have wrongly blamed Iran for these incidents.
The Iranian official also stressed that Iran’s military actions follow strict rules and are directed only at specific targets.
He said Iran openly takes responsibility whenever it conducts an attack.
“The Islamic Republic only targets the objectives, centres and interests of the United States and the Zionist regime and officially announces any operation it carries out,” the spokesman said.
Call for Regional Cooperation
The statement also called on regional countries to work together and remain united to counter what Iran described as deceptive tactics.
The spokesman said stronger cooperation among regional governments would prevent such operations from creating mistrust.
He added that careful and intelligent responses from regional authorities could stop the alleged conspiracy at an early stage.
Iran Denies Attacks on Civilian Targets
The statement comes at a time when several drone attacks have hit residential areas and diplomatic sites during the ongoing regional tensions.
Tehran has repeatedly denied involvement in strikes on civilian targets.
Iranian officials also referred to a March 3 statement by the UK Ministry of Defence, which said a drone that struck the Royal Air Force Akrotiri base in Cyprus was not launched from Iran.
Previous Accusations Against Israel
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has earlier accused Israel of organising drone attacks in Azerbaijan to damage Iran’s diplomatic relations.
Similarly, Iran’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Alireza Enayati rejected claims that Iran was behind a reported drone strike near the US embassy in Riyadh.
Latest Drone Strike in Iraq
The latest reported incident involved a drone strike on the Lanaz refinery in Iraq’s Kurdistan region on Saturday.Iranian military sources said the attack had no connection to Iran or its allied groups.Tehran continues to deny responsibility for attacks on civilian infrastructure across the region.
