Former J&K Forest Minister Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah Passes Away in Jammu

Former Forest Minister and ex-MLA from the Devsar constituency, Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah, passed away in Jammu on Friday after a prolonged illness, family sources confirmed.

Shah had been undergoing treatment for some time and breathed his last in the winter capital on Friday afternoon.

A veteran political figure from the Qazigund area of south Kashmir, Shah represented the Devsar segment in the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. During his tenure as Forest Minister, Shah was associated with matters concerning forest administration, conservation policies, and departmental affairs. He also remained actively involved in developmental works and public welfare initiatives across Devsar and adjoining areas.

He is the uncle of sitting Qazigund MLA Peerzada Feroze Ahmad Shah.

News of his demise sparked an outpouring of condolences from political leaders, party workers, and residents across Qazigund and nearby regions, who remembered him for his public engagement and long-standing contribution to regional politics.
