As part of the Viksit Bharat Youth Connect Programme, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University organized a Special Awareness Talk titled “Digital Empowerment Through MY Bharat Portal” on 30th July 2025 at 01:00 PM. The event was aimed at educating and empowering youth to actively engage with the MY Bharat Portal and contribute to national development through digital means.
The session commenced with introductory remarks by Mr. Shivender Mehta, who highlighted the critical role of digital platforms in transforming governance and ensuring youth engagement in building a stronger India.
Dr. Pervez Alam, Coordinator of the Yuva Connect Programme, provided a comprehensive insight into the MY Bharat Portal, emphasizing its objective to serve as a unified platform for connecting youth with opportunities, skill development, and nation-building activities. He highlighted that the youth are central to achieving India’s development goals and digital platforms such as MY Bharat provide a dynamic medium for their engagement.
Further, Dr. Abdul Hannan conducted a practical sensitization session for students, guiding them through the registration process on the MY Bharat Portal. He encouraged students to register, explore its features, and become active participants in national transformation.
On this occasion, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal appreciated the initiative, noting that such programs reflect the university’s commitment to aligning its academic ecosystem with national missions. He remarked that youth empowerment through digital literacy is fundamental to the success of Viksit Bharat.
Registrar Mr. Abhishek Sharma, IAS, expressed his appreciation and reiterated how the portal aligns with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, which envisions India as a developed, inclusive, and empowered nation driven by youth-led innovation and participation.
Additionally, Dr. Tity Xavier, Associate Dean, School of Nursing, commended the organisers for conducting this impactful event. She acknowledged the relevance of such awareness sessions in shaping the future of nursing students and empowering them with tools to contribute to society beyond clinical roles.
The session saw vibrant participation from students and faculty members of the Nursing College, Rajouri. The discussion helped spread awareness of the digital initiatives being undertaken by the Government of India, particularly for the youth.
