Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of Muqeem Asmi, son of the late Ghulam Mustafa Asmi, who passed away just days after his father.
Muqeem Asmi was closely related to the Mirwaiz family. Describing the loss, the Mirwaiz said that losing two family members within a week is truly heartbreaking.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also led the Nimaz-e-Jinazah (funeral prayers) of the deceased. The gathering was attended by relatives, friends, and several well-known members of society. Among those present was Mufti Azam Nasir-ul-Islam, who is also closely related to the family.
The Mirwaiz offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, especially Muqeem’s young children and his brothers — Tahir Asmi, Rafi Asmi, and Nissar Asmi.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness to both the departed souls, raise their ranks, and give patience and strength to the family during this time of great loss.
