Police on Friday rescued a woman during heavy snowfall in the Sheenipora area of Vilgam in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
An official said the team from Police Station Vilgam acted quickly after receiving an SOS call about a woman who needed urgent medical help. Due to heavy snowfall, the roads were covered with snow and vehicles could not move.
With help from local residents, police officers carried the woman on a charpai through deep snow and difficult paths. Their joint effort helped her reach safety without delay.
The woman was later taken to Vilgam Hospital, where doctors admitted her for urgent treatment. Officials said her condition is stable.
Police praised the quick teamwork between officers and villagers, saying it helped prevent a serious medical emergency. They have again advised people to seek immediate help during bad weather and assured that rescue teams remain on alert across the district.
