Missing Katni Lawyer Archana Tiwari Found Alive in Lakhimpur Kheri After 12-Day Search, Probe Into Disappearance Deepens

Archana Tiwari, a 29-year-old lawyer and civil judge aspirant from Katni, Madhya Pradesh, who vanished during a train journey on the Indore-Bilaspur Narmada Express on August 7, 2025, was found alive on August 19, 2025, in Lakhimpur Khiri, Uttar Pradesh, near the India-Nepal border. Her disappearance, which sparked a multi-state search, began when she failed to disembark at Katni South station, leaving behind her bag containing Rakshabandhan gifts at Umaria station. Last seen at Itarsi station, with her phone last active near Bhopal’s Rani Kamalapati station, Tiwari’s case drew intense scrutiny, with her family initially suspecting human trafficking. The Government Railway Police (GRP), led by SP Rahul Kumar Lodha, traced her after 12 days, and she is being brought to Bhopal for questioning to uncover the circumstances of her absence. Reports suggest she was in contact with a Gwalior-based constable, who is now under investigation. Despite her safe recovery, the reasons for her disappearance remain unclear, pending her statement.
