Continuing its strong drive against drug trafficking, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered a large quantity of contraband in Pulwama.
According to a police statement, a naka checking operation was being carried out on the Tengpona road when a police team stopped two suspicious individuals. The arrested persons were identified as Tanveer Ahmad Wagay, son of Bashir Ahmad Wagay, a resident of Kandajan Budgam, and Mohd Maqbool Shah, son of Mohd Abdullah Shah, a resident of Washbugh, Pulwama.
Both accused were arrested on the spot and shifted to the police station, where they are currently in custody.
Police have registered a case under FIR No. 05/2026 under relevant sections of law, and further investigation is underway to identify possible links and supply networks.
Reiterating its commitment to eliminate the drug menace from society, Jammu and Kashmir Police urged the public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse.
