A Pakistani terrorist linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit was killed in a joint operation by security forces in the Billawar area of Kathua district, officials said on Friday.
The operation was carried out by a small team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the Indian Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Sharing details, Bhim Sen Tuti, Inspector General of Police, Jammu, said the terrorist was neutralised during a coordinated action in the general area of Billawar.
“A Pakistani Jaish terrorist has been neutralised by a small JKP team in a joint operation with the Army and CRPF in Kathua district,” the IGP said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, the Army’s Rising Star Corps said that the operation was launched on January 23 after receiving specific intelligence inputs. Security forces cordoned off the Parhetar area in Kathua and established contact with the terrorist.
“In a precise strike by the joint forces, one foreign terrorist has been eliminated. Search operations are continuing,” the Army said.Officials said the area remains under watch as further searches are being carried out to ensure no other threats remain.
