Iran Rejects Trump’s Timeline, Says Tehran Will Decide End of War With US and Israel

Tehran: Iran has strongly rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that the military conflict with Iran will end soon, stating that Tehran alone will decide when the war ends.

In a sharp statement, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that Washington cannot determine the timeline of the conflict and that the future of the region will be shaped by Iran’s military strategy.

“It is we who will determine the end of the war,” the IRGC said. “The equations and future status of the region are now in the hands of our armed forces, and American forces will not end the war.” Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The IRGC spokesperson accused the US president of trying to mislead global public opinion by making what Iran described as exaggerated claims about military success.

According to the statement, Trump’s remarks about safe passage for ships in the region were false, claiming that US warships and fighter jets had moved more than 1,000 kilometres away from Iranian positions to avoid potential attacks.

The statement also referred to reports that missiles were fired at the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, adding that American forces increased their distance afterward.

Iran further dismissed claims that its missile stockpile had been weakened during the conflict. The IRGC said that Iran’s weapons are now stronger than before, with some warheads weighing more than one ton.

Amid the escalating tensions, the IRGC warned that it would not allow the export of oil from the region to hostile countries, a move that could significantly affect global energy supplies.

Earlier, Donald Trump had described the war against Iran as a “short-term excursion”, saying the US aimed to remove what he called a major threat in the region.

Trump also warned that if Iran disrupts oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, the United States would respond with much stronger military action.

“If Iran stops the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit twenty times harder than they have been hit so far,” Trump wrote on social media.

The latest escalation comes shortly after Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei was reportedly selected as the new Supreme Leader of Iran, following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The conflict has also pushed global oil prices to their highest levels since 2022, raising concerns about the impact on the world economy.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly spoke with Trump by phone on Monday and suggested possible ideas for a political and diplomatic solution after discussions with regional leaders and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron said that France and its allies are preparing a defensive mission to reopen and secure the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route through which nearly 20 percent of the world’s crude oil supply passes.
