An encounter broke out on Wednesday between terrorists and the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Kamadh Nullah area of Kathua district.
A senior police officer told Kashmir News Corner that security forces had launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area. The Inspector General of Police, Jammu, said in a post on X that SOG Kathua had engaged terrorists inside the forest area of Kamadh Nullah. He added that the operation was continuing despite difficult conditions, including darkness, dense vegetation and tough terrain.
The IGP further said that teams from the Central Reserve Police Force have also joined the joint operation to strengthen the security effort. The situation remains tense, and further details are awaited.
