J&K Chief Electoral Officer Reviews Preparations for National Voters Day 2026

The meeting was attended by Director Information J&K Nitish Rajora, senior secretaries, and officers from departments including Higher Education, School Education, district administration, Jammu University, All India Radio, JKAACL, and representatives from Muskan Foundation and Jigar Foundation.

Several arrangements were discussed, such as organising an NVD Run, student participation, transport facilities, the National Anthem, banners at key locations, voter awareness through the SVEEP Van, the NVD pledge, and related activities. Officials were informed that the event rehearsal will take place on January 16 at KL Sehgal Hall.

Jammu University officials were asked to organise the NVD Run on January 24, along with sports events, radio talks, and discussions to educate students and the general public about the voting process.

The Director of Colleges was directed to arrange a live performance of the National Anthem at the start and end of the programme. JKAACL officials were instructed to organise theme-based street plays, group songs, and painting competitions. Representatives from Muskan Foundation and Jigar Foundation were requested to perform songs based on the theme of National Voters’ Day 2026.

While reviewing the arrangements, the Chief Electoral Officer stressed timely completion of all assigned tasks and close coordination among departments to ensure a smooth and successful celebration of National Voters Day 2026.
