The Jammu and Kashmir Government is exploring the possibility of developing a cricket stadium capable of hosting national and international matches, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo said on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a two-day National Sports Conference, Dulloo said the government is assessing the feasibility of the project within the Union Territory’s financial capacity. He added that different models are being examined for the development and long-term maintenance of the proposed facility.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“The government is considering whether such a project can be undertaken independently or whether collaboration with professional sports bodies would be more effective,” he said.

Dulloo said partnerships with organisations such as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), other sports associations, and members of the business community are also being explored to ensure professional management and sustainability of the stadium.

He added that the proposed stadium could help promote sports culture in Jammu and Kashmir, provide better facilities for local talent, and open doors for hosting major sporting events in the region.
