A meteorological department official stated that until June 17, the weather is expected to remain generally dry, although there is a slight chance of light rain or thunderstorms in isolated areas.

The official highlighted that a heatwave is anticipated in the plains of Jammu, while the rest of J&K will likely experience hot and dry weather.

From June 18 to 21, the weather is forecasted to be generally cloudy with the possibility of light rain or thunderstorms in isolated areas during the afternoon.

One Dead 6 Injured in Accident at Ranga Mode Zojilla

 In a tragic incident, one person lost their life and six others were injured after an Innova vehicle skidded off the road and plunged down a steep slope. The accident occurred on Monday, with the vehicle bearing registration number PB01A/4898.

According to sources, the vehicle lost control at a sharp turn, leading to the fatal plunge. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the six injured passengers were immediately tended to by a swift response from the Sonamarg Police, Tourist Police, medical teams, and local residents.

The injured were transported to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Sonamarg for urgent medical treatment. The condition of the injured passengers is currently being assessed, with further details on their status expected to be released shortly

Two Terrorists Identified in Reasi Attack That Claimed Nine Pilgrim Lives

Jammu and Kashmir police revealed that at least two terrorists were involved in the deadly attack on a bus in Reasi district, resulting in the deaths of around nine pilgrims. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma stated that eyewitnesses confirmed the presence of two terrorists, prompting a combing operation in the area with five teams deployed.

The attack, which occurred at approximately 6:10 PM on Sunday, saw militants firing upon the bus, leaving nine individuals dead and 33 others injured. SSP Sharma disclosed that the search operation is concentrated in the dense forest area surrounding the incident site.

Former Sarpanch Bhushan Uppal recounted the harrowing moments during the attack, noting that the firing lasted for 15-20 minutes and resulted in the bus driver being fatally shot. He described the frantic efforts of rescuers to aid passengers amidst the gunfire.

Indian Army and State Disaster Response Force personnel are on the scene, utilizing drones to scour the forested terrain for any trace of the perpetrators. The bus, en route from the Shiv Khori shrine to Katra, was targeted by terrorists as it reached the Pouni area of Reasi district.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the cowardly act and assured swift action against the terrorists. He extended condolences to the families of the victims and affirmed the joint efforts of security forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in apprehending the culprits.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed concern over the situation, directing continuous monitoring and ensuring the best medical care for the injured. He pledged that those responsible for the heinous act would face severe consequences.

Indian Army has initiated a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district following a tragic terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims. The attack occurred on Sunday evening, resulting in the death of ten individuals and injuring 33 others.

State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been deployed to assist in the search operation, which includes the utilization of drones to scour dense forest areas surrounding the incident site.Reasi District Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan confirmed the casualties, stating that ten people lost their lives in the attack. He also mentioned that 33 individuals sustained injuries in the incident.

According to officials, the bus, en route from the Shiv Khori shrine to Katra, was ambushed by terrorists around 06:10 PM in the Pouni area of Reasi district, bordering Rajouri district. The terrorists opened fire, causing the driver to lose control, leading the bus to plunge into a gorge.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi, Mohita Sharma, informed ANI that rescue operations have been completed, and the injured have been transported to Naraina and Reasi District hospitals. While the identities of the passengers are yet to be confirmed, initial reports suggest they hail from Uttar Pradesh.

Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, condemned the cowardly attack and assured swift action against the perpetrators. He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and highlighted the joint efforts of security forces and JKP in launching a counter-operation against the terrorists.

When asked about the Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain’s statement on Saturday regarding the presence of 70 to 80 active foreign terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, and the shift in focus from local to foreign terrorists, Lieutenant General Ghai acknowledged the accuracy of these figures. He emphasized that the actions taken by security agencies against these foreign terrorists are clearly evident.
