In its tireless efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested nine drug peddlers in various districts of Kashmir valley and recovered contraband/psychotropic substances from their possession.

In Srinagar, a Police party of PS Nowhatta, during routine naka checking at Ganj Baksh Park, apprehended two drug peddlers identified as Khalid Ahmad son of Mohd Ismail Rather resident of Rashan Ghat, Soura, and Basit Ahmad Dar son of Bilal Ahmad Dar resident of Usmaniya Colony, Wantpora, Eidgah. During search, substantial quantity of contraband substances was recovered from their possession.

In Baramulla district, a Police party of Police Station Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Azadgunj Chowk Baramulla, intercepted a person identified as Mubashir Mohiuddin Dar son of Gh Mohiuddin resident of Azadgunj. During search, 200 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been subsequently arrested.

Meanwhile in Bandipora, during naka checking at Papachan bridge, officials of PS Bandipora apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 47 Bottles of Codeine Phosphate bottles from his possession. He has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Wani son of Habibullah Wani resident of Hajin. Similarly, during naka checking at Shokbaba Sumlar another drug peddler was arrested along with 40 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ab Rashid Sheikh son of Sonaullaha Sheikh resident of Arin. Moreover, a police party at a checkpoint established at Check Chandergeer, intercepted a vehicle (Maruti Alto Car) bearing registration No. JK15C-0747 driven by Mohmad Aqib Wani son of Gh Mohd Wani resident of Hajin. During search, 98 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from his possession. The driver has been arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

In a similar action by Sopore Police, a Police party of Police Post Putkha at a checkpoint established at Trumgund Crossing arrested two drug peddlers identified as Aamir Farooq Dar son of Farooq Ahmad Dar resident of Ningli Sopore and Javaid Ahmad Gujri @Diya Goor son of Ghulam Nabi Gujri resident of Jamai Qadeem Sopore. During search, 20 grams of Brown Sugar was recovered from their possession.

In Kupwara, a police party intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration No. JK05D-5529, at a checkpoint established at Batergam near Petrol Pump, travelling towards Trehgam. The motorcyclest identified as Mohd Anwar Raina son of Mohd Israiel Raina resident of Amroohi, Karnah, Kupwara tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully. During search, 14 grams of brown sugar was recovered from his possession. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was allegedly carrying the contraband substance to promote drug abuse among the youth of Kupwara, posing a serious threat to the well-being of the society.

Regarding the incidents, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations, and investigations have been initiated.

Continuing its efforts to combat the menace of drugs in society, Baramulla Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Spokesperson said that a team from Police Station Pattan, led by SHO PS Pattan, intercepted a vehicle Santro registration number JK01L-7671 at a checkpoint near the ITI Pattan. The vehicle was occupied by two individuals who were identified as:Mosin Raja S/O Gh Mohiuddin Tantray R/O Tantraypora Palhallan and Ashiq Hussain Dar S/O Ab Ahad R/O Manzseer Sopore.

“During the search, 2.30 grams of contraband Brown Sugar were recovered from their possession. The accused have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Pattan for further legal proceedings”, he said.

Additionally, the vehicle Santro used in the commission of the crime has been seized.

A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Pattan, and an investigation is underway.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday have apprehended a 33-year-old fraudster, Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Handwara, wanted in multiple cases of cheating and forgery across Jammu and Kashmir.

The accused was arrested in New Delhi by a team from Bijbehara Police Station following the issuance of a Public Safety Act (PSA) warrant against him.A police spokesman said that Bilal Ahmad is accused of defrauding dozens of individuals, including paramilitary personnel, by falsely promising bank loans for vehicle purchases and subsidy schemes.

“Investigations revealed that he used forged documents to obtain loans in the names of CRPF personnel, exploiting their identities for personal gain,” he said.

The spokesman said that accused’s criminal record includes at least 14 cases registered at various police stations across J&K, alongside numerous complaints filed against him in different courts.His arrest followed extensive surveillance in Delhi’s Jamia Masjid area, with assistance from the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.

During the arrest, police recovered critical evidence from the accused, including seven ICICI Bank debit cards in the names of CRPF personnel, a laptop, a mobile phone, forged stamps, bank documents, and identity cards.

“Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the accused’s activities,” the spokesman added.

Cyber Cell J&K Police Kulgam Recovers Rs 11 lakh in Online Financial Fraud Cases in Kulgam, Returns 30 Smartphones

The cyber cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police has recovered over Rs 11 lakh in online financial fraud cases in southern Kulgam district, officials said today.

During the current year, multiple applications and reports were received from the general public about missing/stolen of their mobile phones by Cyber Cell of J&K Police in Kulgam,” said a spokesman.

Acting upon these applications and reports, a special and dedicated team of Cyber Cell Kulgam under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kulgam recovered 30 smartphones so far from different places which were either lost or stolen. All the 30 smartphones were handed over to their legal owners after completing legal formalities.

Moreover, Cyber Cell Kulgam solved huge Online Financial Fraud Cases in which an amount of ₹11,09,565/- was recovered and has been refunded to the victim’s account after completing all legal formalities & amount of ₹21,88,715/- was put on hold on receipt of various complaints.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Pulwama have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substances during their possession.

A Police spokesperson said, “During the course of investigation of case FIR No. 246/2024 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act of PS Pulwama, further leads were developed, which led to the arrest of two more drug peddlers identified as Sajad Ahmed Sheikh resident of Nambla Uri and Mudasir Ahmed Thoker son of Gh Hassan Thoker resident of Sonasamil. 264.5 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of one of the accused Mudasir Ahmad.”Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Pertinently, a drug peddler namely Shabir Ahmed Chowdary son of Mir Ali Chowdary resident of Sidhra Jammu has already been arrested along with his vehicle JK02DB-4579 in the instant case besides, 305 grams of Heroin was recovered from his possession.

Srinagar Police has arrested two drug peddlers in separate incidents and recovered contraband/psychotropic substances from their possession.

Acting on a specific input regarding a person namely Bashir Ahmed Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie resident of Suthsu Kalan, who had hoarded contraband substances in his residential house, a police party of PS Nowgam along with 1st Class Executive Magistrate BK Pora raided the said location.

During search, 8.5 kgs of Psychotropic substances were recovered from the said location and the accused owner of the house has been arrested. Case FIR no. 116/2024 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered at PS Nowgam and investigation initiated.

Meanwhile, during the investigation of the case FIR No. 28/2024 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Maisuma, a checkpoint was established at Sheikh Bagh Lane, following the disclosure of two arrested drug peddlers of the instant case, the main accused identified as Shabir Ahmad Zaindari son of Bashir Ahmad Zaindari resident of Firdous Colony Bemina has been arrested. During search,substantial quantity of contraband substances have been recovered from his possession.

Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substances abuse under Operation *Sanjeevani*, R.S Pura Police achieved a major success by recovering *7.78 grams of Charas like substance along with 48 tablets of Clonazepam* from two drug peddlers in the area under the jurisdiction of PS R.S Pura.

A Police team of PS R.S.Pura led by SHO PS R.S Pura assisted by Police officials on 17.12.2024 while on routine patrolling, established a naka at *Village Banota* and rounded up two suspects later identified as

*1. Tinku Kumar S/o Tilak Raj R/o Banota Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu*

*2. Sahil Kumar S/o Om Parkash R/o Banota Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu *. During search, *7.78 grams of Charas like substance along with 48 tablets of Clonazepam* got recovered from the possession of accused persons.

In this regard, case *FIR No. 268/2024 U/S 8/20/21/22/29 NDPS Act* stands registered at PS R.S Pura and accused persons got arrested, further investigation is underway to uncover the source of the contraband and any potential links to a larger drug network.

The arrests were made under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Hqrs Jammu.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 06 drug peddlers in Srinagar, Kupwara, Shopian & Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

In Srinagar, a police party of Police Station Nowhatta during routine naka checking at Malkha chowk, apprehended an individual under suspicious circumstances. During search, approximately 40 grams of charas like contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Ahanger son of Amin Ahanger resident of Kathi Darwaza. On his disclosure, another individual namely Bilal Ahmad Sheikh son of Gh. Qadir Sheikh resident of Tujgari Mohalla, was apprehended near old Malkha Chowk. Upon his personal search, approximately 80 grams of charas were recovered.

In Kupwara, a police party of Police Station Kralpora at a checkpoint established at Khazanmatti, intercepted two suspicious persons. During search, approximately 13 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Aasim Sultan Sheikh, son of Mohd Sultan Sheikh, resident of Trehgam, and Mujtahid Nazir son of Nazir Ahmad Lone, resident of Khumriyal. Further investigation has been initiated to establish the backward and forward linkages of the drug trade and uncover any networks involved.

In Shopian, Police Station Keller received an information that one person namely Gh Mohammad Parray son of Ab Ahad Parray resident of Chowan Keller has concealed Charas like contraband substance in his residential house. Acting swiftly, a police Party from Police Station Keller along with Executive Magistrate raided the said residential house. During search, 41 grams charas like contraband substance was recovered. Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individual. The operation was meticulously executed by SHO Police Station Keller under the supervision of SSP Shopian Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS.

In Kulgam, a police party of Police post Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Ganjipora, Mirbazar, intercepted a vehicle (Truck) bearing registration number PB07AF-2124 driven by Davinder Singh son of Karnail Singh resident of Rajpur safdarpur district Hoshiarpur Punjab. During search, 3.140 Kgs of poppy straw concealed in a bag, was recovered.

All the accused have been arrested and vehicle used in commission of crime has been seized. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigations have been initiated.

Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore have arrested 04 gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession.

A Spokesperson said, On a specific information regarding gambling activities at Tarzoo, a police party of Police Station Tarzoo led by SHO Police Station Tarzoo under the supervision of SDPO Sopore raided the spot. On seeing the police party gamblers tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Shareef ud Din Sheikh son of Abdul Ahmad Sheikh, Mohammad Ismail Sheikh son of Late Abdul Gani Sheikh, Nasir Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir and Nisar Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh all the residents of Tarzoo. Stake money of ₹6000/- & playing cards were recovered from their possession.

In this connection, case under relevant sections of gambling Act stands registered at PS Tarzoo and investigation has been initiated.

Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt with as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local Police units.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Ganderbal and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A Spokesperson said that a police party of Police Post Nagbal at a checkpoint established at Shuhama intercepted a suspicious person who tried to flee from the spot after noticing police party. He was chased and apprehended tactfully. During search, bangpattri along with seeds and tops like contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Kambay son of Ghulam Ahmad Kambay resident of Shuhama.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 303/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been initiated.
