Cyber Police Kashmir today Warns Social Media Users to Immediately Stop Sharing Hate Content Aimed at Fueling Sectarian Unrest in the Valley.

In a post on X, Cyber police wrote, “We have observed that certain hateful sectarian content, originally posted and later removed, has been downloaded/ saved by malicious individuals who are now circulating it widely on social media. This behavior is under close watch”

“Several offenders have already been summoned to the @cyberpolicekmr, and strict legal action is being taken. We urge everyone who has downloaded or shared this harmful content to stop immediately.” The Cyber police wrote on X.

“We caution all users: Sharing hateful content is a punishable offense. Legal action will be enforced against violators. WE ARE WATCHING.” the post reads.

The Enforcement Department (ED) of Srinagar has provisionally attached immovable properties valued at ₹5.91 crore located in Delhi, Jammu, and Haryana. This action is linked to an ongoing investigation into the Bogus Cryptocurrency Scam involving “Emollient Coin.”

The attached properties include ₹3.66 crore worth of assets related to M/s Manoj Ji & Co. Pvt. Ltd. and properties associated with M/s The Emollient Coin Limited, UK, represented by Naresh Gulia in India. The ED’s swift actions are based on credible information and evidence gathered from various sources.

The investigation revealed that the scam was orchestrated by Naresh Gulia, who managed the fraudulent operations and duped hundreds of innocent investors. The ED’s efforts aim to bring justice to the victims and deter future fraudulent activities.Public cooperation is encouraged to report any suspicious financial schemes to the authorities.

Srinagar Police Arrests Drug Peddlers Furqan Majid Khan and Sameer Hussain Dar Recovers Contraband Substances

In a strong resolve against the menace of drugs, Srinagar Police has arrested four drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession. During naka checking at Zafran Colony, police apprehended Furqan Majid Khan and Sameer Hussain Dar, recovering substantial quantities of narcotic substances. Case FIR No. 02/2025 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Panthachowk, and both individuals have been arrested.

Similarly, at Zawoora crossing, two chronic drug peddlers, Suhaibji Bhat and Ubaidullah Lone, were apprehended in a vehicle, with substantial quantities of contraband substances recovered. They have been charged under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

Investigations are ongoing to unearth the illegal narcotics network. Police appeal to the public to assist in the fight against drug trafficking by sharing relevant information for a safer, drug-free society.

Srinagar Police on Wednesday said that six miscreants have been detained at Central jail for inciting sectarian unrest through derogatory remarks.
Srinagar Police on X said: 06 miscreants have been charged under sections 126 & 170 of the BNSS and have been detained at Central Jail, Srinagar, for inciting sectarian unrest through derogatory remarks,” it said.
Police warned that any individual found engaging in similar unlawful activities, including posting or sharing sectarian content with the intent to create division or disturb public harmony, will meet the same fate.(KNS)

In its relentless efforts to contain the drug menace, Police in Srinagar has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Spokesperson said that Police team of PS Chanapora at a checkpoint established at Chanpora intercepted a vehicle (Tempo Traveller) bearing registration number JK02AF-1776, with two persons on board. They have been identified as Umer Manzoor Rather resident of Natipora @ Manadev and Yawer Ahmad Bhat resident of Baghat Kanipora. During search, substantial quanity of contraband substance was recovered from their possession.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 03/2025 under NDPS Act has been registered at PS Chanapora and investigation initiated.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Awantipora & Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Spokesperson said that Police team at a checkpoint established at Datpora Dogripora, arrested 02 drug peddlers, identified as Bilal Ahmad Lohrihanji son of Ali Mohd Lohrihanji resident of Gund Prang Hajin Bandipora and Reyaz Ahmad Mir son of Ab Gani Mir resident of Datapora Dogripora. During search, 1.460 Kgs of grinded Cannabis Powder was recovered from their possession.

Meanwhile in Sopore, during patrolling at Harwan Sopore, a Police team led by SHO PS Bomai under the supervision of SDPO Sopore, intercepted a drug peddler identified as Manzoor Ahmad Mochi son of Mohammad Shaban Mochi resident of Harwan Sopore. During search, 137 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession.

All the accused have been arrested and cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.

Sopore Police have successfully arrested a drug peddler and seized Psychotropic Substances in their ongoing efforts to eliminate drug-related issues from society.

A Police spokesperson said, “On January 11, 2025 during naka checking at Chinar Crossing Fruit Mandi, a police team led by IC PP Fruit Mandi PSI Rashid Khan under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, intercepted an individual identified as Majid Ashraf Khan S/O Mohammad Ashraf Khan R/O Pethseer Sopore.”

Upon his search, the police recovered 110 tablets of Alprazolam. A case (FIR No. 04/2025) has been filed under the relevant sections of the law, at Police Station Sopore and an investigation has begun.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested five drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Spokesperson said that Police party of Police Station Chandoosa headed by SHO PS Chandoosa at a checkpoint established at Thanda kasi Chandoosa, intercepted one person. During search, 56 grams of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from his possession.He was later identified as Mohd Shaban Maray son of Late Gh Mohd resident of Dudbugh. He was subsequently arrested.

Similarly, A police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO PS Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Limber Boniyar, intercepted two persons. During search, 88 grams of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from their possession. They were later identified as Mehraj Ahmad Najar son of Late Fateh Najar resident of Limber and Shabir Ahmad Bakerwal son of Wazir Mohd resident of Babagail Limber. They were subsequently arrested.

In addition to the above, a police party of Police Post Babareshi headed by IC PP Babareshi at a checkpoint established at Babareshi Crossing, intercepted two persons. During search, 85 grams of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from their possession. They were later identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Magray and Dawood Ahmad Magray sons of Gh Rasool Magray both residents of Dudbugh. They were subsequently arrested.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Chandoosa, Boniyar & Tangmarg and investigations have been initiated.

Murdered in Ashmuqam: Husband kills wife Shabnam Akhtar , Burns Body to Destroy Evidenc

A woman who had been missing since October last year was found murdered in Ashmuqam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, with her husband and mother-in-law emerging as prime accused in the crime, police said on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Shabnam Akhtar, was allegedly murdered by her husband Imran Khan, a laborer from Halmulla Hapatnad, Ashmuqam Pahalgam, with the help of his mother, police revealed during the investigation.

The shocking case came to light after police intensified their probe into Shabnam’s disappearance. According to a senior police officer, Imran Khan, 35, confessed during questioning that he, along with his mother, killed Shabnam on October 4, 2024, and later burned her body in their cowshed to destroy evidence.

Acting on his confession, a police team, accompanied by a Duty Magistrate, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team, and the accused, visited the crime scene. During the investigation, officials recovered hair, some bones, and the deceased woman’s cellphone, which were sealed before the Duty Magistrate for further forensic examination, the officer said.

A formal case (FIR No. 01/2025) under sections 103(1) BNS and 61(2) BNS has been registered against Imran Khan and his mother, Noor Hassan, wife of Mouz Ud Din Khan. Both accused have been arrested and sent to jail.

The case has sent shockwaves through the area with residents demanding strict punishment for those responsible.
