Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.

A police party of Police Post Old Town Baramulla headed by IC PP Old Town Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Janbazpora Baramulla, intercepted one person. During search,288 capsules of Spasmed psychotropic substances was recovered from his possession. He was later identified as Aijaz Ahmad Sofi son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Chakloo. He was subsequently arrested.

Accordingly, case under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigations have been initiated.

Bandipora Police Crack Down on Drug Trafficking Network

 Bandipora Police have launched a rigorous campaign against Drug trafficking, arresting eight major drug traffickers and recovering a substantial amount of contraband substances this January.

On January 6, a police team at Nowgam intercepted Ishfaq Hussain Rather of Harinara, Sumbal, recovering 1.038 kg of bhang powder from him. Two days later, another team arrested Ishfaq Ahmad Wani near Wangipora Middle School with 16 bottles of Ascodex-CD Plus and 5 grams of charas.

On January 11, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh of Nowpora Bandipora was caught with 13 bottles of Codeine Phosphate during a checkpoint at Kema Aloosa. Similarly, on January 15, Waseem Ahmad Mir of Magnipora was arrested near Sumlar Bridge with 93 strips of SpasmoProxyvon capsules.

Continuing the drive, on January 16, Muzaffar Ahmad Lone of Nusso Bandipora was caught at Magnipora Bala with 14 bottles of Codeine Phosphate. On January 18, Tawqeer Ahmad Bhat of Naz Colony Bandipora was apprehended near Panzigam Grid Station carrying 14 bottles of the same substance.

On January 19, a checkpoint at Lal Qila Mode, Pethkote, led to the arrest of Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh of Kaloosa Bandipora with 13 bottles of Codeine Phosphate. Finally, on January 20, a woman from Sumlar was caught with charas during a checkpoint near Palpora Bridge.

A Police team of Police Station Yaripora at a checkpoint established at Kokergund Crossing, Humshali bugh intercepted a person roaming in suspicious condition. He has been identified as Faizan Ahmad Dar son of Nafeez Ahmad Dar resident of Brazloo Jagir. During search, 2.087 grams of Heroin like contraband substance was recovered from his possession.

In Awantipora, a police party of Police Post Toll Plaza headed by Incharge Police Post Toll Plaza under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora at a checkpoint established near Chersoo Crossing intercepted a vehicle (load Carrier) bearing registration number JK13H- 8415 with 02 persons onboard. During search, 1.2 Kgs of grinded Cannabis-like substance was recovered from their possession. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized. They have been identified as Arshid Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Nabi Dar resident of Gulshanabad Rajpora Pulwama & Shakir Ahmad Ganie son of Fayaz Ahmad Ganie resident of Gulshanabad Rajpora Pulwama.

All the accused have been arrested and cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation have been initiated.

Based on credible information , a search operation was conducted by the Panthachowk Police Station at the residence of Irfan Ahmad Ganie, son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Athawajan.

The search, carried out in the presence of the Tehsildar Panthachowk (a Gazetted Officer), resulted in the recovery of 290 bottles of Codeine Phosphate.

According to a police spokesperson, a case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and an investigation is underway, following the filing of FIR No. 05/2025.J&K Police remains committed to curbing drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.

In Baramulla, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Chak Limber, Boniyar intercepted a suspicious person. He has been identified as Gh Nabi Dar son of Late Mohd Subhan resident of Babagail Limber. During search, 50 grams of contraband charas like substances was recovered from his possession.

In Budgam, a police party of Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Durbugh near Higher Secondary School Chadoora, intercepted a suspicious vehicle (Maruti 800) bearing registration No. JK01H-8720 driven by Sajad Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Gopalsaif Dedmaribagh Chadoora. During search of vehicle, one polythene bag containing grinded charas like narcotic substance weighing 01 kg and 700 grams was recovered. Vehicle used in commission of crime was also seized.

Pulwama Police Arrests Three Drug Peddlers, Seizes Large Quantities of Charas

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Pulwama Police have arrested 03 drug peddlers in Pulwama and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police spokesperson said, “On a specific information about concealing of narcotic substance at the residential houses of two drug peddlers at Kisrigam Kakapora, a police party from Police Station Kakapora raided both the residential houses and recovered 10.7 Kgs of grinded Charras Powder from the residential house of Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Gh. Nabi Dar and 7.8 Kgs of grinded Charras Powder from the residential house of Irshad Ahmad Mantoo son of Gh. Nabi Mantoo.”

Similarly in another action, a police party of PS Litter during naka checking at Litter near Petrol Pump intercepted a suspicious person. During checking, 200 grams of Charas like substance from his possession. He has been identified as Mehraj-u-din Shah son of Gulam Hassan Shah resident of Chari Sharief Budgam.

All the accused have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation have been initiated.

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Srinagar and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police team of Police Station Khanyar during routine patrolling in Bishambarnagar area, intercepted two suspicious persons roaming in the area. During search,substantial quanity of contraband substance was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Imran Ahmad Ganie son of Gh. Mohammed Ganie resident of Naibasti Anantnag and Abid Hamid Nanda son of Ab. Hamid Nanda resident of Dagpora Khanbal, Anantnag.

Both the drug peddlers have been arrested & a case vide FIR No. 02/2025 under relevant section of NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Khanyar and further investigation has been initiated.

Police on Friday said that it have arrested two drug Peddlers including a Special Police officer in Miran Sahib area of Jammu district.

A Police spokesperson said that In a significant action against drug trafficking under Operation Sanjeevani, Jammu Police apprehended two drug peddlers including one SPO posted at DPL Poonch and recovered 12 grams of heroin-like substance (Chitta) during a late-night operation near Balol Bridge, Ring Road, Miran Sahib.

According to spokesman, a police team from Police Station Miran Sahib, intercepted a vehicle traveling from Samba towards Akhnoor. Upon noticing the police presence, the suspects attempted to flee but were swiftly apprehended.

The arrested individuals have been identified asSPO Irfan Hussain ( posted at DPL Poonch)S/O Matloob Hussain, R/O Galuta, Tehsil Mendhar and Sajjad Hussain Shah, S/O Sarfraz Hussain Shah, R/O Potha Surankot, District Poonch.

A thorough search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 12 grams of heroin-like substance. Following this, an FIR No. 11/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29/60 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib, and further investigation is underway, he said.

Jammu Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and urges citizens to support the fight against narcotics by reporting any suspicious activities. The identity of informants providing crucial leads in such cases will be kept confidential, he said.

Police in Srinagar solved a theft case within hours by arresting the accused and recovering stolen jewellery. The theft occurred at Mst Aimen Akhzar’s residence while her parents were performing Umrah.

Police Station Shaltang registered the case and identified Janatul Begum, a maid, as the suspect during the investigation. The stolen jewellery was recovered upon her disclosure. Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activity to the police for prompt action.

Srinagar Police Arrest Mehraj Din Qazi for Selling Fake Gold Ornaments in Bijbehara

Police in Srinagar have apprehended an individual involved in the sale of counterfeit gold ornaments. A complaint was lodged by Nisar Ahmad Bhat, stating that he had purchased fake gold ornaments from Mehraj Din Qazi, proprietor of M/S Soliya Ornaments in Bijbihara.

Acting swiftly, police arrested the accused shopkeeper, Mehraj Din Qazi, and seized the fake jewelry. The accused admitted to embossing fake hallmarks on gold-like ornaments and delivering them to various locations in Srinagar. Laboratory tests confirmed the items were counterfeit.

The investigation continues to uncover further links in the fraudulent network. Police are urging the public to exercise caution and not fall prey to such scams.
