Security Forces Launch CASO in Forest Areas of Poonch for Second Day

Security forces are carrying out a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the dense forest areas of Poonch, with senior officers personally leading the operation.

Officials said that acting on specific intelligence inputs, Jammu and Kashmir Police, its Special Operation Group (SOG), along with the Indian Army, launched the CASO on Wednesday evening.

The operation is being conducted in the villages of Bhata Dhurian, Loharka, Nar, and Sanjiote, which fall under the Mendhar sub-division of Poonch district. Authorities said the search operation continued for the second consecutive day on Thursday.

Senior police officials, including the SSP Poonch, along with officers from other security forces, are supervising and leading the operation on the ground. Security agencies said the operation aims to ensure safety and maintain security in the area.
