Continuing its drive against the drug menace, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday arrested a drug peddler during a naka checking at Circular Road near Tahab Chowk in Pulwama.
According to a police statement, the naka party intercepted an individual identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganaie, son of Bashir Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Chatapora. During a thorough search, police recovered contraband substances from his possession. Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The recovered items included cannabis (charas choora-like substance) weighing 413.50 grams, one stick of charas weighing 36.5 grams, and charas powder weighing 70 grams.
Following the recovery, a case FIR No. 08/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned police station, and further investigation is underway.
Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society and urged the general public to cooperate by sharing information. The police emphasised that public support is crucial in building a drug-free Pulwama.
