Omar Abdullah Accuses BJP of MCC Violation, Criticizes Election Commission

National Conference (NC) Vice-President, and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has leveled serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of breaching the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Abdullah, speaking to the media after filing nomination papers at the Office of the Returning Officer in Baramulla, expressed dismay over the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) purported failure to take action against the BJP.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Abdullah claimed that the ECI has turned a blind eye to the BJP’s activities, alleging that the party has been freely spreading hate and exploiting religious sentiments to sway voters. He criticized the apparent disparity in treatment, where other parties are being strictly instructed to adhere to the MCC while the BJP allegedly flouts these rules with impunity.

Asserting his party’s stance against the decisions made on August 5, 2019, Abdullah emphasized that the NC is actively seeking votes from the people to oppose these decisions. He highlighted the significance of this election cycle, noting that it marks a significant milestone for him personally, as he files nomination papers after a gap of twenty years for national elections and a decade for elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Abdullah further revealed that the NC and the INDIA bloc are jointly contesting the Lok Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Expressing optimism, he expressed hopes for a successful outcome, aiming to secure all five seats in Jammu and Kashmir and one in Ladakh. The statement reflects Abdullah’s confidence in the alliance’s strength and their ability to represent the interests of the region effectively. (KNS)

Shocking Revelation: Inside the Secret Militants Recruitment Plot Uncovered in Budgam!

In a dramatic turn of events, Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) has successfully intercepted a nefarious scheme aiming to bolster terrorist ranks in Budgam district. Reports reveal a meticulous operation executed by CIK operatives, leading to the apprehension of an individual poised to join the ranks of the dreaded Ansar Gazwat-Ul-Hind (AuGH) outfit.

According to a statement furnished to Kashmir News Observer (KNO) by CIK, intelligence was received indicating an imminent bid by AuGH to regroup and rejuvenate its presence in the Kashmir region. The document further disclosed the insidious role played by a Pakistan-based handler, identified as Hamzah alias Gazi, who was allegedly indoctrinating Kashmiri youths into embracing terrorism.

Further investigations exposed the clandestine activities of hybrid Over Ground Workers (OGWs), purportedly colluding with AuGH to orchestrate a recruitment drive in the Valley. Acting swiftly on the intelligence, CIK operatives zeroed in on Waseem Ahmad Sheikh, hailing from Beerwah, who was suspected of being in league with the terrorist handlers.

Preliminary interrogations uncovered Sheikh’s extensive virtual correspondence with the handlers, with plans afoot to forge a new terrorist faction. Shockingly, Sheikh had been tasked with luring more youth into the fold of terrorism, with promises of arms and ammunition from his handlers across the border.

Deeper probes revealed Sheikh’s involvement in multiple WhatsApp and Telegram groups affiliated with terrorist organizations, hinting at a broader network yet to be dismantled. CIK remains steadfast in its pursuit of justice, vowing to track down all accomplices and bring them to book.

This resolute action by CIK stands as a beacon of hope in the ongoing battle against terrorism, underscoring the unwavering commitment to safeguarding peace and stability in the region. As investigations continue, the revelation of this sinister plot serves as a stark reminder of the ever-present threat posed by extremist elements, necessitating constant vigilance and proactive measures to thwart their designs.

JKAP President Slams NC and PDP Silence on Article 370: Exposes Political Hypocrisy in Pulwama Rally

altaf bukhari

In a fiery public rally at Goripora, Awantipora village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for their conspicuous silence on the abrogation of Article 370.

Bukhari minced no words as he questioned the absence of voices from the NC camp, despite having three members in the Lok Sabha when the historic decision to revoke Article 370 and 35-A was made. “Did they speak up? Did they resign in protest?” he challenged the opposition parties, highlighting their apparent lack of action and advocacy for the people of Jammu and Kashmir during a critical juncture in the region’s history.

The JKAP leader reserved special criticism for the PDP’s Lok Sabha candidate for Srinagar, Waheed Parra, accusing him of involvement in scandals related to job scams and questioning his suitability for representing the people. Bukhari’s remarks underscored a broader sentiment of disillusionment with traditional political figures and their alleged failure to address the pressing issues facing the region.

Drawing attention to former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Bukhari condemned her political flip-flop, accusing her of betraying the trust of voters who had placed their faith in her party to resist the BJP’s influence. He highlighted the irony of Mufti’s current rhetoric about fighting for the dignity of the people, contrasting it with her previous actions in forming a coalition government with the BJP.

The JKAP President didn’t shy away from criticizing Mufti’s controversial remarks, including her infamous “toffee” comment, and questioned her track record as a parliamentarian, suggesting that her tenure was marked by a lack of substantial contributions to public discourse.

In a veiled reference to the Jamaat-e-Islamia, Bukhari hinted at the PDP’s alleged association with religious organizations and accused them of exploiting such ties for political gain. He reiterated calls for lifting bans on religious organizations, signaling a departure from the divisive politics of the past.

Amidst the political jousting, Bukhari emphasized the need for change and urged voters to use the upcoming parliamentary elections as a platform for ushering in a new era of governance. He highlighted key issues such as the regularization of daily wagers, indicating a shift towards addressing grassroots concerns and advocating for tangible reforms.

As tensions simmer and political rivalries intensify, Bukhari’s rallying cry resonates with a population eager for meaningful change and accountability from their elected representatives. The Pulwama rally serves as a stark reminder of the power of public discourse in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir’s political landscape.

Sarbal Area of Sonamarg Struck by Avalanche in Ganderbal District, No Casualties Reported

In the serene expanse of Sarbal, nestled within the heart of Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, nature unleashed its might as an avalanche descended on Monday. Miraculously, amidst the swirling chaos of snow, there were no casualties or financial losses to lament. The avalanche chose its path wisely, sparing the forested fringes of Sonamarg from its wrath, leaving behind a landscape unscathed, as officials confirm.

In the aftermath, a stirring sight unfolded as Project Beacon, the venerable initiative of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), rallied into action. With meticulous precision, their teams engaged in a valiant snow-clearing endeavor, reminiscent of their longstanding commitment to the region’s infrastructure.

Born in the crucible of the 1960s, Project Beacon stands as a stalwart guardian, entrusted with the monumental task of nurturing and fortifying the vital road network cradling the Kashmir valley. Its domain spans the formidable Zojila Pass, the lifeline binding Drass to the Kashmir valley, among other critical arteries of connectivity.

At the heart of Project Beacon’s mandate lies the relentless pursuit of mobility, ensuring the ceaseless flow of traffic through the rugged terrain of Zojila Pass. Moreover, it shoulders the responsibility of refurbishing the sacred paths of the Amarnath Yatra and the Herculean task of snow clearance, a vital lifeline during the unforgiving winters.

Elsewhere, in a testament to their unwavering commitment, a convoy of 35 stranded vehicles found reprieve atop the frost-kissed heights of Razdan Top along the Bandipora-Gurez road. Battling the tempestuous whims of weather, the indefatigable personnel of BRO orchestrated a daring rescue, emerging as beacons of hope amidst the wintry gloom.

However, the capricious nature of the mountains unveiled its darker visage on April 27, as Pernote village, a tranquil hamlet ensconced merely six kilometers from Ramban town, bore the brunt of relentless landslides. A harrowing tableau of destruction unfolded, with roads rendered impassable, homes ravaged, and power towers felled by the unrelenting fury of nature’s fury.

In the wake of this calamity, the resilient spirit of the affected villagers shone through as they found sanctuary in the embrace of Panchayat Ghar and other makeshift shelters. Stepping up to the challenge, the administration extended a compassionate hand, offering essential medical aid and sustenance to those grappling with the aftermath of nature’s tempestuous outburst.
