The Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) on Wednesday urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to announce a clear and time-bound policy for the regularisation of daily wagers, DRWs, SPOs, ad-hoc appointees, contractual staff and consolidated employees.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said that long delays and uncertainty have pushed thousands of families into serious distress. He said that while the government has spoken about forming committees and creating a mechanism, workers on the ground still see no real outcome.
“A committee does not feed a family. These are not just files, they are families. They are not temporary in their work, only in how they are recognised. Promises and committees cannot replace dignity and job security,” he said.
Inam Un Nabi stressed that the issue is not only administrative but also humanitarian. He demanded immediate clearance of pending dues, protection of minimum wages, and access to basic service benefits along with regularisation.
He said the Awami Itihaad Party will continue to raise the issue until a fair, transparent and enforceable policy is announced. Such a policy, he added, is long overdue for workers who have already spent the best years of their lives serving the public.
