In a post on X, Lone expressed grief over the death of Adnan, a resident of Kralpora in Qaziabad, and called for serious attention to the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to Lone, what reportedly began as a minor argument turned fatal, with Adnan allegedly being assaulted and pushed onto the road before being run over by a vehicle.

He further said that the vehicle fled the scene but was later traced and apprehended by police in Punjab.

“This is much more than road rage,” Lone wrote, alleging that the perception of Kashmiris as lesser human beings had become deeply rooted among sections of the population across the country.

Describing the incident as a case of homicide, the Peoples Conference president stressed that the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death should not be treated as an ordinary road rage episode.

The death of Adnan Akbar has raised serious concerns, with Lone’s remarks bringing renewed attention to the safety and treatment of Kashmiris outside Jammu and Kashmir.
