Budgam Working Journalists Association

The Budgam working journalist association (BWJA) in a bid to strengthen the media scenario and address the problems faced by journalists, held an election on Saturday to constitute its new body.The election was held at Townhall Budgam.

According to the election body, the voting process was attended by all the professional Journalists of the district and around 50 members participated in the election.

Abid Hussain Election commissioner said that, Naveed Ul Haq was unanimously elected as president while Kesar Noor Ul Amin was elected as vice-president of the association.He said that Younis Parray was elected as General Secretary of the association.

He said that the newly constituted body vowed to take up the issues confronting the journalists of the district and ensure all media ethics are adhered to.

He said that Budgam based journalists thanked the election organising body for holding the free and fair election.On the occasion MLA Chadoora Ali Mohammad Dar was the chief guest on the occasion.(KNS).
