The legislators, reportedly unhappy with the recent Cabinet reshuffle and expansion, are likely to discuss their future course of action and formulate a common position before presenting their grievances to the party leadership.
The meeting is likely to take place at the residence of NC MLA Mubarak Gul, sources disclosed.
This will be the group’s fourth meeting since 30 October, with its continued deliberations raising questions about internal differences within the ruling party and the stability of the Omar Abdullah-led government.
In a memorandum submitted to the NC leadership, the legislators have demanded a restructuring of the Cabinet, including a review of the performance of ministers who have completed two years in office. They have also called for the removal of ministers they consider underperforming.
Another key demand concerns the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department portfolio held by Surinder Choudhary. The legislators have sought its withdrawal from him, despite the issue having previously triggered criticism from more than 20 MLAs during a meeting at Dachigam on 3 June.
The group has also demanded the removal of Chief Minister’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani.
As exclusively reported by KNO earlier, the dissident legislators are expected to meet the National Conference leadership on Friday morning to discuss their concerns and press for action on their demands.
The outcome of the meeting could prove significant for the ruling party as it attempts to address growing internal dissatisfaction.
