BGSBU Concludes Three-Day National Sports Day Celebrations With Enthusiasm

The celebrations were held under the nationwide theme “Khelega Bharat, Jeetega Bharat”, highlighting the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.
The final day featured a range of sporting activities designed to encourage participation and promote a healthy and active lifestyle among members of the university community.
Volleyball and arm wrestling competitions
The day’s programme began with an energetic Volleyball Tournament at the BJRC Hostel Volleyball Court, where participating teams competed with enthusiasm and displayed strong teamwork and sportsmanship.
This was followed by an Arm Wrestling Competition at the APJ Hostel Indoor Hall. The event saw participants competing in a spirited atmosphere while demonstrating strength, determination and competitive spirit.
Sports festival marks conclusion
The celebrations concluded with a Friendly Sports Festival and Closing Session, bringing together students, faculty and staff for a range of recreational sporting activities.
The closing programme also included interactive sessions, group photographs and concluding remarks.
The organisers said the activities created a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere across the campus and reinforced the role of sports in promoting physical fitness, confidence, camaraderie and a healthy lifestyle.
Participants displayed discipline, enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the three-day programme.
Activities held under NCC supervision
The day’s activities were conducted under the supervision of Dr Abdul Hannan Khan, CTO-NCC, with support from student and staff volunteers.
The organisers appreciated the contribution of the volunteers, whose efforts helped coordinate the different sporting activities and ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations.
Vice Chancellor congratulates BGSBU community
BGSBU Vice Chancellor Prof Jawaid Iqbal congratulated students, faculty and staff on the successful completion of the three-day National Sports Day celebrations.
He emphasised that sports form an important part of holistic education and contribute significantly to the overall development of students.
According to the Vice Chancellor, participation in sports helps students develop discipline, leadership, resilience, teamwork and confidence, qualities that are valuable both inside and outside the classroom.
He also encouraged students to maintain an active lifestyle and make sports an integral part of their daily routine.
Registrar appreciates organisers and participants
Registrar Ravi Kumar Sihag also appreciated the efforts of the organisers, volunteers and participants for making the celebrations successful.
He said such programmes provide students with an opportunity to showcase their sporting abilities while encouraging healthy competition and strengthening bonds among members of the university community.
He further highlighted the role of sports activities in developing camaraderie, discipline and a sense of belonging among students.

The successful conclusion of the three-day celebrations reinforced the spirit of “Celebrate, Compete, Inspire” and the message “One Spirit. One Team. One Victory.”
