BGSBU Rajouri Begins One-Week Induction Programme for New Students

The programme aims to help new students make a smooth transition into university life while familiarising them with the University’s academic, administrative and student-support systems.
The induction programme is being organised by the respective Schools in coordination with their concerned Departments.
Vice Chancellor Welcomes New Students
BGSBU Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal welcomed the newly admitted students and described the induction programme as the beginning of an important phase in their academic and personal journey.
He encouraged students to make active use of the University’s opportunities and facilities, particularly in academics, research, sports and extracurricular activities.
Prof. Iqbal urged students to pursue excellence with dedication, discipline, curiosity and innovation, while wishing them a successful and rewarding academic journey at BGSBU.
Registrar Appreciates Departments’ Efforts
University Registrar Sh. Ravi Kumar Sihag, IAS, appreciated the efforts of the various Schools and Departments involved in organising the programme.
He highlighted the importance of helping new students understand the University’s academic environment and available support systems from the beginning of their studies.
Students Introduced to Academic and Campus Facilities
During the induction programme, students are being introduced to a wide range of academic and campus facilities and services.
The sessions cover:
- Academic programmes and curriculum
- Academic rules and regulations
- Examination and evaluation procedures
- Library and laboratory facilities
- Digital learning resources
- Student support services
- Research and innovation opportunities
- Sports and cultural activities
- Skill development opportunities
- Personality development programmes
The programme also provides students with opportunities to interact with faculty members and learn about the vision, mission and institutional values of BGSBU.
Focus on National Education Policy 2020
Special attention is being given to opportunities and academic pathways emerging from the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Students are being introduced to concepts including multidisciplinary education, experiential learning, skill development and holistic education.
The sessions are designed to help students understand how these approaches can support their academic growth and future career development.
Building a Sense of Belonging
The induction programme, coordinated by the University’s Admission Cell, is also aimed at creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for new students.
Through interactive sessions and orientation activities, students are being encouraged to interact with their peers and teachers, participate actively in university activities and develop a strong sense of belonging to the BGSBU community.
The University said the programme will help new entrants understand its academic culture, expectations and opportunities as they begin their higher education journey.
