PDP Announces Nominees for Parliamentary Elections: Mehbooba Mufti, Parra, and Mir Set to Contest Key Constituencies

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unveiled its roster for the upcoming parliamentary elections, nominating three distinguished leaders to vie for key constituencies. Led by party president Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP’s selections were announced by Parliamentary Board Chairman Sartaj Madani during a press conference at the party headquarters in Srinagar. Madani emphasized that the decisions were made following extensive consultations with senior party figures. Mehbooba Mufti will contest from the Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, while the party’s youth president Wahid-ur-Rehman Parra will vie for the Srinagar seat. Additionally, former MP Fayaz Mir has been chosen to represent the party in the Baramulla segment of north Kashmir.

The official Twitter handle of the J&K PDP confirmed the candidatures, underlining Mehbooba Mufti’s candidacy for Anantnag-Pir Panchal, Parra’s for Central Kashmir, and Mir’s for the Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency. This announcement marks a significant step for the PDP as it gears up for the electoral battle, showcasing its commitment to fielding experienced and capable leaders in pivotal constituencies across the region.
