Qeshm Island Missile Strikes Reported as Iran Claims US MQ-9 Drone Downed

In a post on X, Tasnim reported that preliminary information indicated two missiles had hit Qeshm Island. However, no official details have emerged regarding the possible damage or casualties resulting from the reported strikes.

Separately, the Iranian Army claimed that its forces had intercepted and destroyed a US MQ-9 drone in the skies over Qeshm several hours before the reported missile strikes.

The claims come amid heightened regional tensions. However, neither the reported missile attacks nor Iran’s assertion that it destroyed the American drone had received independent confirmation at the time of reporting.

No immediate statement was available from US authorities regarding the Iranian Army’s claim.
