Rahul Gandhi Scheduled to Appear in Sultanpur Court

The Congress leader was scheduled to appear before a special MP-MLA court in Sultanpur in connection with a defamation case involving alleged remarks against Amit Shah, the BJP’s former national president.

The court was expected to pronounce its judgment on Monday, making Rahul Gandhi’s physical presence necessary for the proceedings.

The case dates back to August 4, 2018, when BJP leader Vijay Mishra, a former chairman of the Sultanpur District Cooperative Bank, filed a complaint against Gandhi.

The complaint concerned alleged remarks about Amit Shah made during a campaign rally in Bengaluru ahead of the 2018 Karnataka Assembly elections.

Further details about the injured persons and the circumstances surrounding the expressway collision were awaited.
